You always hear about how well adapted to colour the various species are in the natural environment. Well, none more a poignant example on a recent night drive through the Kruger National Park, Southern/Malelane area, than 2 young male lions.  Photographed with flash under pitch black dark conditions. Autofocus even on my Canon EOS 1DMk3 was a little iffy - so switch to manual focus. Estimate the distance to the lions at  10 - 15 metres. Take a stab at manual focus and then fire away.  End result .. you would not see this creature in front of you until you stepped right onto it. Then you would feel it first. Notice how he blends in with the exact same colour as the grass. Nature has a better colour match scheme that the best Pantone cards or Photoshop CS!
